Terms of Service
LAST UPDATED · 15 AUGUST 2026
Welcome to VOLAR, an AI-powered study assistant for flight schools, available at volarstudy.com (the "Service"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Service.
The Service is operated by [registered legal entity name and address — to be confirmed at incorporation] ("VOLAR", "we", "us"). Questions about these Terms: volarapp@outlook.com.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who can use VOLAR
VOLAR is provided to flight schools under a separate written agreement between VOLAR and the school (the "School Agreement"). Access for students and staff is granted only through a school's account: your school enrols you and sends you an invitation. You may use the Service only while your school's agreement is active and your account remains authorised by your school.
If anything in these Terms conflicts with the School Agreement, the School Agreement prevails for the school; these Terms continue to apply to your individual use of the Service.
2. Your account
- Your account is personal. Keep your password confidential and do not share your account or let anyone else use it.
- The information you provide (such as your name) must be accurate.
- Tell your school or us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
- Your school's administrators can manage, suspend, or remove your account in accordance with your school's own policies.
3. The AI study assistant — important limitations
VOLAR uses artificial intelligence to answer questions, generate quizzes, and run practice briefings based on documents uploaded by your school. You understand and agree that:
- VOLAR is a study aid, not a source of operational or safety-critical instruction. It does not replace your school's official training materials, your instructors, or applicable regulations and operating procedures.
- AI answers can be incomplete or wrong. Every answer includes citations to the source document — you are expected to verify important information against the cited source, which is why the citations exist.
- Never rely on VOLAR for real-world flight operations. Flight preparation, briefings, and decisions must be based on official, current documentation and your school's procedures — not on the Service.
- Quizzes, briefing scores, and analytics are practice tools; they are not official assessments unless your school says otherwise.
VOLAR is designed to answer only from your school's uploaded documents and to say so when it cannot — but no AI system is perfect, and we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any output.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Share, download, redistribute, or publish your school's documents or any content from the Service outside your school, except as your school permits
- Attempt to access another school's data, another user's account, or any part of the Service you are not authorised to use
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or interfere with its operation
- Use automated tools to scrape the Service or extract its content
- Attempt to extract, reverse engineer, or misuse the AI system, including attempts to make it produce content unrelated to your training
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, and will inform the school where appropriate.
5. Content and intellectual property
- Your school's documents belong to your school. The school grants VOLAR a licence to host and process them solely to provide the Service (as set out in the School Agreement). We claim no ownership of school content.
- The Service belongs to VOLAR. The software, design, features, and branding of VOLAR are our intellectual property. These Terms give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your flight training while authorised; they transfer no ownership.
- AI outputs (answers, quizzes, briefings) are generated from your school's documents for your personal study. They may be used within your school's training context and are subject to the same restriction on outside distribution as the underlying documents.
- If you flag a quiz question or provide feedback, you grant us the right to use that feedback to improve the Service.
6. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we process and why. For students and school staff, your school is the data controller and VOLAR processes data on its behalf under a Data Processing Agreement.
7. Availability and changes to the Service
We work to keep VOLAR available and reliable, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, add, or remove features, and we may suspend the Service for maintenance. Any specific uptime commitments to a school are set out in the School Agreement, not in these Terms.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We disclaim all warranties not expressly stated in these Terms, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
- VOLAR is not liable for decisions made, or actions taken, in reliance on AI-generated output. See Section 3 — the Service is a study aid only.
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service.
- Our total liability to any individual user for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service is limited to €100 or the minimum amount permitted by law, whichever is greater. Liability to schools is governed by the School Agreement.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Nothing in these Terms limits the statutory rights of consumers where they apply.
9. Termination
- You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data).
- Your access ends automatically if your school's agreement with VOLAR ends or your school removes your account.
- We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these Terms, with notice to you and your school where practicable.
- Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 3, 5, and 8) do survive.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify schools and give notice in the Service before it takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction — to be confirmed on legal advice], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be subject to the courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory law gives you the right to bring proceedings where you live.
12. General
- If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
- Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
- These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy (and, for schools, the School Agreement), are the entire agreement between you and VOLAR regarding the Service.
